Pal upgrades
Convert Pal Souls: Crusher ratios and batch planning
Use a Crusher or Refrigerated Crusher to convert Pal Souls in either direction. Two Souls make one of the next size; one Soul breaks into two of the previous size. One Giant therefore becomes two Large, four Medium or eight Small after consecutive recipes.
Convert only the missing tier for your next enhancement. This changes the size of your resources; it does not add an enhancement to a Pal or refund Souls already spent.

Choose the output size, then read the input
| Combine | Break down |
|---|---|
| 2 Small → 1 Medium | 1 Medium → 2 Small |
| 2 Medium → 1 Large | 1 Large → 2 Medium |
| 2 Large → 1 Giant | 1 Giant → 2 Large |
Small-to-Giant needs three separate recipes: eight Small become four Medium, then two Large, then one Giant. Converting back preserves that base equivalence; it still takes production work. Do not interpret “2” on a recipe as two finished items without checking which side of the arrow it labels.
Work out a batch without emptying the wrong stockpile
Example: you need six Medium Souls and have two Giant. Break both Giant into four Large, then use three of those Large to make six Medium. Keep the fourth Large for later. This is arithmetic from the recipe ratios, not a measured farming yield.
If combining Small into Medium, pairs matter: five Small can produce two Medium with one Small left over. Reserve the Souls your active Pal still needs before combining a whole stack upward. For a raid team, count the next upgrades on each Pal first; a pile of Giant Souls does not mean every lower tier is ready in your bag.
Check enhancement tiers and costs →Queue, power and collect the conversion
- Build a compatible facility inside your base. The ordinary Crusher unlocks at technology level 8 and uses 50 Wood, 20 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragments.
- Open its production menu and choose the Soul size you want as the output. Check the input count and choose a small first batch.
- Assign a Pal with Watering to the ordinary Crusher. Its water turbine needs that work suitability; player Handiwork alone is not the production requirement.
- Wait for production, collect the finished Souls and verify the actual output in your inventory.
- Return to the Statue of Power for the enhancement. Collecting a converted Soul is not the same as applying it.
If the recipe or production is missing
Check the facility name, the selected output recipe and the input tier. For an idle ordinary Crusher, check whether its Watering worker can reach it and is available for work. Do not change your Pal’s enhancement or pay a reset to fix an idle machine.
The September 16 Medium Pal Souls discussion describes this exact endgame bottleneck. Players recommend breaking Giant Souls down rather than maintaining a separate farm for every size. Use that advice when you have a surplus; if you lack Souls altogether, choose a Giant Soul acquisition method first.
