Get Giant Pal Souls: choose a route for your raid team
For Giant Souls, start with what your save already supports: combine spare Large Souls, fight Pals with Giant drops, salvage advanced barrels or run an unlocked expedition. You can then break Giants into the smaller tiers your team needs.
Expeditions and salvage give you alternatives to a breeding-and-butchering farm. Their actual returns depend on your available routes, team and settings; a community endgame yield is not a promise for a new save.

Pick the next route by your current constraint
| Your situation | Next action |
|---|---|
| Enough Large, short on Giant | Combine 2 Large into 1 Giant at a Crusher. |
| Want an active combat route | Target a Giant-dropping Pal you can safely defeat. |
| Already have a water mount and magnets | Use advanced salvage while collecting other sea materials. |
| A Soul expedition is already unlocked | Send a suitable team and use its reward preview to plan. |
If Medium is the bottleneck, you may not need another farm. One Giant can become four Medium through two recipes. Use the complete conversion table before collecting a different size.
Use a known Giant-dropping enemy
PalDB’s current Giant Soul record lists Dandilord and Aegidron, along with many Rampaging Pals. For example, Rampaging Gorirat and Rampaging Vanwyrm each have a listed base drop of one Giant Soul. Species, variant and encounter matter; an ordinary Pal sharing the same name is not automatically the Rampaging drop row.
- Choose a listed encounter that your party can handle and travel prepared for its combat level.
- Finish the encounter and collect the drop; check your Giant Soul inventory before repeating.
- Keep the Giants you need for higher enhancements and convert only the surplus downward.
This is a target-selection route, not an exact spawn circuit or a guaranteed raid build. Do not enter a harder encounter solely because its database row has a larger base quantity.
Combine Soul gathering with a sea run
Advanced salvage includes Giant Souls in its loot pool. Bring a rod, a swimming mount and Powerful Fishing Magnets, and select gold-banded barrels. Souls are one possible reward; every barrel is not guaranteed to be a Soul barrel.
That makes salvage useful when you also want Coralum Ore. Keep inventory space for several kinds of loot, and do not spend your last magnets assuming the next barrel will finish a Soul tier. Follow the tool and minigame checks if the interaction will not start.
Use the unlocked expedition’s preview
The World Tree Subterrenean City Ruins record lists Giant Souls among its rewards. Its base data shows 8–12 with a one-hour duration; that is a reference row, not the final yield for every expedition team. The route’s unlock is a late-game prerequisite, so an unavailable destination is not a missing Soul recipe.
- Open your Pal Expedition Station and choose a destination whose preview includes Giant Souls.
- Check the route’s unlock requirement, team suitability, displayed reward and time before dispatch.
- Collect the completed expedition, count the Souls actually received and queue another only if that return suits your goal.
In Tyler6304’s October 1 raid-army discussion, players describe expeditions, salvage, ground pickups and mass butchering. The thread has different preferences and setups. Its largest quoted quantities do not establish a universal hourly rate. Budget your team with the enhancement guide and your own completed-run result.
