Farm Ancient Technology Points: first kills and repeatable manual rewards
Defeat an unbeaten Tower Boss or Alpha for its first-clear points; use Ancient Technical Manuals for repeatable additions. One Ancient Technical Manual grants one Ancient Technology Point when consumed. Repeating a boss you already cleared is not another first-clear point reward.
These points unlock ancient technologies. Ancient Civilization Parts are crafting materials, and ordinary technical manuals increase a different point balance. Check which of the three your next step needs.

Use first-clear rewards when they are still available
| Source | Ancient points | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Tower Boss | 5 | First defeat |
| Alpha Pal | 1 | First defeat |
| Bounty | 1 | First completion |
Check your progression and choose an encounter you have not completed. Prepare for its fight, complete it, then inspect the Ancient point balance before spending. The table describes PalDB’s listed first-clear sources, not a promise about every mission, difficulty variant or modded encounter.
If you are already repeating an encounter for loot, count the item drops separately. A repeat run can be useful for materials while adding no new first-clear points.
Farm Ancient Technical Manuals from accessible rewards
The August 29 discussion asks for a route before reaching the World Tree. SuperSaiyanBen recommends dungeon end rewards; Acceptable-Ability96 notes that the book type is random. Current PalDB entries include Ancient manuals in early Hillside/Isolated Island Cavern reward pools as well as later regional dungeons.
- Choose a dungeon you can finish with your current equipment; reaching the World Tree is not a prerequisite for this book route.
- Finish the route and collect the end reward chests. Keep inventory room for the results.
- Identify Ancient Technical Manual by its full name and effect. An Advanced or Innovative manual belongs to the ordinary system.
- Use the Ancient book from inventory and confirm that the Ancient balance increased by one.
- Repeat accessible reward runs if you still need points. Treat an ordinary-book result as a different useful reward, not proof that the run failed.
We do not guarantee an Ancient manual in every cave or publish a universal fastest dungeon. Route length, combat strength and random book selection affect what works for your save.
Use a pond or fishing route if your base is already prepared
Har_monia’s reply reports both ordinary and Ancient books from a base pond, worked by a Handiwork Pal. The current Ancient Manual record lists regional fishing and pond pools, including grass-region ponds. You can use this as a repeatable alternative while doing other tasks.
- Prepare a Fishing Pond you have unlocked and a worker with Handiwork.
- Read the selected reward pool and choose a catch option that includes the book you want. Supply the required bait.
- Let the production finish, then use the side container to collect the caught Pal and item rewards.
- Read and consume any Ancient Technical Manual you actually received. Repeat without assuming that each cycle must contain one.
For active fishing, use the route-selection guide and your equipment prompt. A fishing party can help complete catches or increase item quantity; it does not guarantee a particular book.
Do not use the ordinary-manual farm as an Ancient-point guarantee
Several replies in the same thread mention Lyleen or Shadowbeak disassembly. Their Innovative Technical Manual gives ordinary Technology Points. That answer helps one half of the original question; it does not establish an Ancient-manual drop from those Pals.
The bounty shop’s five-token Advanced Technical Manual is also ordinary. A bounty’s first-completion Ancient point and a later manual purchase are separate transactions. Use the ordinary-point guide if that is the shortage shown on your recipe.
If another boss kill or book did not unlock the recipe
- Already cleared this boss: switch to an unbeaten source or repeatable Ancient books.
- You received Ancient Civilization Parts: those are materials; look for points or an Ancient Technical Manual.
- Book acquired but balance unchanged: use it, rather than leaving it in storage.
- Ordinary balance went up: check the manual’s full name; you spent the other currency’s book.
- Ancient points are sufficient: check the technology’s required level and other unlock conditions.
Verify the unlock first, then collect its crafting materials. More materials cannot solve a missing-point requirement, and more points cannot replace materials after the recipe is unlocked.
