Beyond Dimensions and the Moon quest: route and stuck objectives
Complete and turn in Beyond Dimensions at Fisherman’s Point before starting From the Far Side of the Moon. The first route goes through the Sealed Realm of Terraria and Eye of Cthulhu; the follow-up gives you the Celestial Sigil schematic for the Moon Lord route.
If repeated Moon Lord kills are not moving the mission, check whether the crafting objective registered first. One September player reported success after personally crafting and collecting the sigil at an older bench. That is a conditional attempt, not a universal fix.

Check the mission and your version
Both sub-missions were added in the official v1.0.4 update. Update an older client and check the server version before looking for the new NPC dialogue. The official v1.0.5 notes address textures and respawned map filters; they do not announce a general repair for the Moon mission.
This is the quest progression route and preparation checklist. It does not supply a guaranteed Moon Lord combat build or a Master-difficulty strategy. Prepare for the fight separately before spending a summoning item, and keep the mission objective visible so you can tell which action has registered.
Finish Beyond Dimensions first
- Travel to Fisherman’s Point in Mount Obsidian. PalDB marks it at -475, -754. Speak to the Pal Tamer associated with the strange creature and accept Beyond Dimensions.
- Go to the Sealed Realm of Terraria. PalDB marks the dungeon at -420, -787; the NPC position and dungeon entrance are different destinations.
- Enter and follow the dungeon route to defeat Eye of Cthulhu. Watch the tracked mission update after the objective.
- Return to the original NPC at Fisherman’s Point and turn in the mission. A boss kill without the final conversation is not the completed first mission.
- Speak to the NPC again for From the Far Side of the Moon. Confirm that the follow-up is active before preparing its craft.
Prepare the Celestial Sigil and altar fight
- Accept From the Far Side of the Moon after turning in Beyond Dimensions.
- Use the Celestial Sigil schematic from that follow-up. The ordinary sigil recipe uses 100 Hallowed Bars. Carry the schematic and materials to a compatible production bench.
- Craft one ordinary Celestial Sigil and collect the finished item. Check that the crafting objective has advanced before making more.
- Build or prepare a Summoning Altar in your base and arrange the fight before offering the sigil. Summoning at a base is a combat commitment; do not treat it as a harmless menu check.
- Offer the sigil, complete the Moon Lord encounter required by your current objective, then return to the Fisherman’s Point NPC for the turn-in.
PalDB lists both Moon Lord and [Master] Moon Lord labels in the mission record. Those labels alone do not explain whether the conditions are alternatives or cumulative. Follow the active objective in your game; this guide does not tell you to spend a Master sigil merely because a database lists both names.
The Celestial Sigil item record lists Primitive and High Quality Workbenches, assembly lines, Advanced Workshop and Ancient Workbench as compatible production locations. Recipe compatibility and quest registration are separate checks.
Watch the follow-up route
DanPlays’s v1.0.4 guide shows the Moon follow-up. Press Play to watch here, then Stop to return to this page. The video does not establish a universal fix for crafting registration or the exact Master condition.
Read the objective before crafting or summoning again
| Current state | Next check |
|---|---|
| No Moon mission | Turn in Beyond Dimensions, then speak to the same NPC again. |
| Still asks to craft | Confirm the quest was accepted and that you collected the finished sigil. |
| Crafting registered; combat pending | Follow the tracked summoning/boss objective. Do not keep remaking the recipe to solve a later step. |
| Combat done; reward missing | Return to the quest giver and check the final dialogue. |
The September 11 Reddit question by PrismaticAlpha reports several sigils and Moon Lord kills without progress. Verzwei replies that Pal crafting at an Ancient Workbench did not update the crafting stage for them; personally crafting and picking up the item at an older bench did.
Try that only if your mission is still on the craft stage: with the follow-up active, use a compatible older bench, do the work yourself and personally collect one sigil. Check the objective before summoning again. The report has no exact client version, and the original author did not confirm success. It does not show that the Ancient Workbench cannot produce the item.
If the objective still stays unchanged, save the mission text, platform/client/server version, bench, who crafted and who collected the item for a bug report. Repeatedly spending another 100 bars or another summon without a changed objective is not a demonstrated repair.
Keep the reward bundles separate
| Mission | EXP | Gold | Other rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beyond Dimensions | 17,745 | 30,000 | Little Kinship Peach; Terra Blade Schematic 2 |
| From the Far Side of the Moon | 35,490 | 100,000 | Kinship Peach; Terraprisma Schematic 2 |
Together the listed amounts are 53,235 EXP and 130,000 Gold. The peaches and schematics remain two different reward pairs. The Moon row is the follow-up’s reward, not the total for both missions.
