Jellroy or Jelliette? Choose the right fishing and salvage Pal

v1.0.5 partner skills · checked October 8, 2026

The short answer

Bring Jellroy for salvaging floating barrels; bring Jelliette for ordinary fishing. Their party skills affect items obtained from different activities. Leaving the Pal at your base does not satisfy the party condition for a sea run.

The listed party bonus rises from 55% to 95% as the partner skill improves. That percentage is not a 95% chance to obtain a legendary fishing-rod schematic.

Both partner descriptions also mention improved Watering when the pair is in the base. That clause belongs to base work, not the salvage reward or fishing roll. A player can satisfy the base condition and still lack Jellroy’s party effect at a barrel.

Skill level 5 corresponds to four condensation stars, not five stars. You can use the uncondensed party skill while preparing an upgrade; the table does not say the Pal must be fully condensed before it has any effect.

These are the values in the linked current partner records. The table alone does not establish a linear multiplier for a party full of copies, or how each individual loot roll rounds a bonus.

A loot bonus does not promise a rare schematic

Aerensiniac’s August 23 Steam question describes spending hundreds of magnets without a legendary rod schematic. Wild’s reply separates Jellroy’s salvage role from Jelliette’s fishing role. The discussion’s exact drop-rate comparisons are not used here because the reward sources and denominators differ.

Choose the node or fishing pool for its reward table first. Then bring the appropriate Pal. Seeing more ore or duplicate ordinary items does not demonstrate a higher chance of rolling the rare schematic you want, and a dry streak does not by itself show that the party skill is broken.

See a 1.0 salvage party and route

The Pal Professor’s guide shows team preparation and a dedicated Jellroy stacking test at 2:55, followed by the route at 3:20. Watch that specific setup rather than adding several tooltip percentages into a promised total.

For your next attempt: confirm the activity, put the matching Pal in the party, check its skill level and leave room for rewards. If results still look unusual, compare the same reward tier and save your client/server version, party and actual item counts.
